PROJECT UPDATE LATEST REGIONAL PROJECT UPDATE EGYPT EGYPT The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company has awarded Siemens a contract for the construction of two substations. The move is aimed at improving the resilience of Egypt’s power grid and the substations will be used to transmit electricity from the Burullus Power Plant. The two new substations at Samanoud and Aboul Matameer will enable power delivery to Egyptian homes as well as different industries located in the Delta region. They will also help increase the capacity of the national grid, which is a key requirement to foster economic growth as defined by the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030. BAHRAIN A project has been completed in Bahrain to improve traffic problems on the road network. The authorities have finished the transformation of the Wali Al Ahad Roundabout in Riffa as well as a lane for U-turns underneath a flyover for traffic coming from the north along Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway. The work is a response to directives from HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to reduce traffic congestion across the road network in Bahrain.
