PROJECT UPDATE JORDAN JORDAN The second phase of the Support To Research Technological Development And Innovation (SRTD) project in Jordan is underway. This aims to increase the amount technological innovation contributes to the national economy. The programme aims to let technology provide a boost to the private sector, especially small and medium enterprises. The overall budget for the three-year programme is 5,300,000 Euros with a contribution of 5,000,000 Euros from the European Union and 300,000 Euros contributed by Jordan through the Higher Council for Science and Technology. KUWAIT KUWAIT Work is underway to build a second terminal at Kuwait International Airport. The Foster and Partners- designed Terminal 2 has seen heavy construction work begin on site. The terminal is being built by Turkey’s Limak Holdings and was originally scheduled for completion in 6.5 years, although the contractors and Kuwaiti Government hope to deliver the project within four years. The new terminal will increase the capacity of the airport and will be constructed in stages.
