NEWS OMAN ITA collaborates with Microsoft for government e-transformation More than 100 professionals attended a conference in Muscat focussing on increasing Government efficiency with technology. Microsoft Gulf Public Sector SMSP, delivered keynote speeches, followed by presentations on digital transformation success stories from the government. Attendees heard how connected cloud services can enhance the way the Government operates at a workshop hosted by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) in collaboration with Microsoft Oman. “The Sultanate of Oman has been on a journey towards digital transformation for over a decade now by implementing e.oman Strategy which ITA is responsible for implementing in cooperation with the government and private sectors, spurred by the realisation that technology can have a profound effect on all aspects of the society,” said Dr. Al-Bulushi. A ‘Empowering Digital Government’ session at the Hormuz Grand Hotel showcased Microsoft’s products which can be used to transform the public sector and sectors of Government.
