For this month’s Industry Watch, Majed Othman Al Othman, General
Manager, IT Department, Ministry of Justice, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
and his colleague, Dr. Saleh A. Almurgrin, Vice Deputy Minister and ICT
Advisor to HE Minister, Ministry of Justice, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
talk to Intelligent CIO about the Ministry’s recent ICT implementations,
in line with the country’s ‘Vision 2030’ roadmap, and how these have
helped pave the way for a more cohesive and efficient administration
of justice across the Kingdom.

IT implementations at the
Ministry and how these
have aided with streamlining
operations?

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serves the
legal needs of the country through its
vast network of offices with over 30,000
endpoints (employees) throughout the
Kingdom. The Ministry is continually
working on ways to ensure the delivery
of critical services and has been at the
forefront of IT and technology adoption.
First and foremost, we have begun the
transformation process with the update of
hardware and to insert the right equipment
needed to begin the steps for more efficient
services. Specifically, we are trying to
find the scalability in order to introduce
new services and to have specific and
secure channels in order to link our data
centres with other government ministry
data centres to assist with issues like data
mining. In order to share information and
data with other agencies our systems will
need to compliment each other.
The Ministry has recently signed a
strategic deal with Nexthink to implement
its advanced IT analytics solution to
FIRST AND FOREMOST, WE HAVE BEGUN THE TRANSFORMATION
PROCESS WITH THE UPDATE OF HARDWARE AND TO INSERT
THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO BEGIN THE STEPS FOR MORE
EFFICIENT SERVICES. SPECIFICALLY, WE ARE TRYING TO FIND
THE SCALABILITY IN ORDER TO INTRODUCE NEW SERVICES AND
TO HAVE SPECIFIC AND SECURE CHANNELS IN ORDER TO LINK
OUR DATA CENTRES WITH OTHER GOVERNMENT MINISTRY DATA
CENTRES TO ASSIST WITH ISSUES LIKE DATA MINING
