GITEX 2016 SPECIAL
FEDELIS CYBERSECURITY
Making its debut at GITEX, Fedelis
CyberSecurity will demonstrate the latest
updates to Fidelis Network and Fidelis
Endpoint.
HUAWEI
Huawei will be showcasing its range of ‘new ICT’
solutions that are aimed at “shaping the future
in a connected world.”
Charles Yang, President, Huawei Middle East,
said, “The need of the hour is for infrastructure
networks in the Middle East to connect cities
– creating information-sharing platforms that
carry smart applications for happier and safer
communities. At GITEX 2016, Huawei brings
the latest technologies, innovations and best
practices that redefine the way organisations
operate in a Smart City environment.”
This year’s key highlights include solutions
developed together with Huawei’s technology
partners, designed specifically for Government,
Education, Hospitality, Real Estate, Banking and
Transportation sectors in the Middle East.
Huawei Innovation Day will take place on
Day 1 of GITEX, from 16:00 to 18:30 at Sheikh
Maktoum Hall. Huawei business leaders,
product experts, partners and customers
will present keynote sessions and a panel
discussion focused on ‘shaping the future in
times of innovation’. Huawei Innovation Day
will also see the launch of a new Smart City
Readiness Index that is being developed by
Navigant, commissioned by Huawei.
“Organisations in the Middle East face an
array of highly skilled attackers with motives
that range from data theft to the destruction
of critical infrastructure,” said Jason Mical,
Vice President of endpoint products, Fidelis
CyberSecurity. “It’s no longer simply a case
of perimeter security and remediation once
a breach happens. Security organisations
must incorporate deep and automated
threat detection and analysis to quickly and
accurately respond to threats before they
escalate and data theft occurs.”
In addition to demonstrating its solutions,
Fidelis will be showcasing its new malware
database and freeware tools that the security
community can take advantage of to counter
attacks and prevent data theft without cost.
New resources include the Barncat Threat
Intelligence Database, the ThreatScanner tool
for finding malware residing on an endpoint,
and CCNumberFinder to support PCI DSS
compliance.
“There is no doubt that security is high, if
not at the top, of the agenda of every CISO
in the Middle East. As the largest regional IT
exhibition, I am excited to join the local team
at GITEX and use it as a platform to meet
with industry peers, partners and customers,”
said Jason.
