How is the cyber security
organisation structured
in GE?
As we are a big and diverse company
and involved in various industries
including aviation, healthcare, oil
& gas, power, transportation and
capital, we have a horizontal and
vertical cybersecurity function. Our
responsibilities include both enterprise
IT and product security, and we partner
closely with related functions like
engineering and physical security. Every
GE business has a CISO who is a subject
matter expert in his or her industry.
And to cover all geographies, we also
have regional CISOs like me who work
in partnership with business CISOs. We
all are part of the same team which is
led by GE Global CISO Tim McKnight. In
