Makkah Clock Royal Tower
deploys wireless infrastructure
The Fairmont Group of Hotels &
Resorts recently deployed Aruba
Networks’ wireless infrastructure
at its iconic Makkah Clock Royal
Tower hotel in Makkah, Saudi
Arabia.
our hotel regularly hosts
thousands of guests and
between these hotel guests
and staff, at any time we
may have up to 25,000
connections to the wireless
network via laptops, iPads
and smart devices.
Thanks to the Aruba Wi-Fi
solution, guests and staff at
the hotel will be able to enjoy
secure, seamless, high-speed,
wireless Internet access across
all seventy-six floors of the
hotel.
Furthermore, during peak
seasons, particularly Hajj,
the number of connections
can spike by up to 99%. We
needed an infrastructure
that could handle the
increasing volume of
devices while delivering
the consistent speed and
performance that our
customers and our staff
expect.”
Explaining the need for a stateof-the-art wireless infrastructure,
Mohamed Mahmoud, IT Director
at Makkah Clock Royal Tower
said, “As one of the premier
properties in the Holy City,
Kodak Alaris
invests in
Saudi Arabia

for production scanners in the kingdom,
Kodak Alaris has announced that it is
opening dedicated service centres in
Saudi Arabia to provide fast local support
throughout the country for organisations
using both Kodak branded as well as third
party scanner equipment.
The new centres opened in June 2015
and are located in the capital, Riyadh,
along with Jeddah, Dammam and

This is key given high volume
production scanners are fundamental
to business process workflows and
ensuring equipment availability and
uptime is crucial.
Kodak Alaris has invested
considerably to grow
its presence in Saudi
Arabia over the past few
years and now employs
both sales and technical
teams. Revenue from
scanner sales has more
than doubled since 2012.
This has been driven by
the tremendous wave
of digitisation projects
underpinning various
smart government
initiatives, rapid growth
of medical records
scanning and significant success
winning business from Business Process
Outsourcers (BPOs) who provide
solutions to various industry sectors such
as banking and insurance.
