EGYPT
An electrical interconnection between Egypt and
Saudi Arabia is to be constructed. The project will include
creating a transmission line to transfer gas between the
two countries at peak times for each country, at a maximum
of 3,000 MW. The line will also be used for an electricity trade
exchange, especially during the winter.
The 500 kV DC interconnection between both grids, the
largest in the Southern Mediterranean region, starts at
Badr in Egypt passing by Tabuk and ends at El-Madinah
El Munawara in Saudi Arabia.
QATAR
Sports City Stadium is a proposed football stadium
which will be built in Doha, Qatar, in time for the 2022
FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The stadium will have 47,560
seats, which will make it one of the world’s premiere multi-use
facilities in the decades following the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Unlike a number of other World Cup stadiums, the Sports City
Stadium’s seating capacity will remain intact following the
event, and the stadium’s innovative features will make it
an ideal venue not only for football matches but also
concerts, theatre performances and athletic events.
