OAB launches
new e-payment
gateway
service ‘OAB
iPAY’
O
man Arab Bank (OAB) has announced
the launch of a new e-payment
Gateway facility.
The new service is part of the bank’s
innovative roadmap to contribute to the
digital economy of Oman by improving the
electronic payment ecosystem. The bank’s
public and private sector corporate clients
will be able to receive payments online
through website and mobile applications for
products and services.
OAB is a pioneer of electronic payments in
Oman and will now strengthen its range of
merchant payment acceptance solutions
with this new service.

most companies.
Prof Dr Aydin Azizi, Assistant Professor
at the Department of Mechanical
Engineering at the German University
of Technology in Oman, has received
the National Research Award from The
Research Council for his published research. “My research can be applied
in the different sectors such as
telecommunications, transportation,
energy, industry and even healthcare,
through a network of tracking
identification cards and pattern
recognition of rescue robots etc.”

Prof Aydin introduced a novel Hybrid
Artificial Intelligence Algorithm to analyse
and calculate the optimised number and
the position of RFID antennas needed
to be deployed in the network in order to
track and identify materials, products and
even live subjects.
He said: “Artificial intelligence includes
the design of intelligent agents to solve
real-world every-day problems, and

His results show the proposed new
algorithm which is a high performance
and accurate technique to solve
complex problems.
His main research interest is Mechatronics,
focusing on developing and investigating
different Artificial Intelligence techniques to
model, control and optimise complex non-
linear systems for industrial applications
such as in telecommunications.

To subscribe to the service, corporate
customers will require a simple Application
Programming Interface.
The bank will assist and supervise this
process which can be completed in as little
as two weeks.
