QATAR The Oryx Residential Tower is a 30-storey residential development located at West Bay, Doha, Qatar. The tower will have traditional muscharabir patterns which give a traditional Arabic identity to a modern building. Triangular in shape the tower thins out as it reaches its peak and will sport some unusual and innovative features and be instantly recognisable by its homage to the Oryx - its amazing antler spires which instead of pointing upwards curve over slightly. The tower will have a glass facade but this is not your usual glass facade - as it will become the world’s biggest LED screen. This will allow images to be projected onto the outside of the building making this not only a fully functioning skyscraper but also a massive communal television. 32 INTELLIGENTCIO www.intelligentcio.com
