The Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) organised a workshop entitled ‘Wavelet-
Based Applications in the Twenty-First Century’ at the Hashemite Auditorium at the Royal
Scientific Society.
HE Dr Khaled Shuraydeh, of HCST, said the workshop illustrated the aim of the ‘Jordanian
Scientist and Technologist Abroad’ programme to reverse the “brain drain of Jordanian scientists
and technologists” by linking them with counterparts in Jordan.

Al-Rasheed Bank is to pay the salaries of those retired from the military through its branches in
Baghdad and the provinces, as well as smart card outlets. This will begin in September 2017. The
bank has 138 branches, with 61 branches in Baghdad and 77 in the rest of the Governates.
