Five co-operation protocols have been signed in Egypt. The Minister of Communications and
Information Technology, Yasser ElKady, and the Minister of Planning and Administrative Reform,
Hala Al-Saeed, witnessed the signing ceremony of the protocols with the governors of Port Said,
Dakahlia, Qalioubia, Luxor and Fayoum.
The protocols will automate and develop business in the governorates’ headquarters and
progress technological solutions for the national micro and small enterprises in each governorate.
BAHRAIN
The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has announced new regulations to create a regulatory
sandbox that will allow start-ups and fintech firms to test and experiment their banking ideas and
solutions. The creation of the regulatory sandbox provides an opportunity for fintech businesses
around the world to expand and thrive in the Gulf and strengthens Bahrain’s position as a fintech
and financial services hub in the GCC.
