MoU signed to incorporate
Dubai font on Huawei
smartphones
T
he Executive Council of Dubai and
Huawei Consumer Business Group
have announced a partnership
that will see it include the Dubai Font on
its mobile operating systems as one of
its standard pre-loaded fonts.
The font will be automatically available
on the upcoming Huawei flagship
smartphone starting with the Middle
East and Africa later this year, and in the
rest of the world as of next year.

Designed to reflect the modernity and
culture of innovation that exists within
Dubai, the signing is the latest move in
a series of steps that has seen it cement
its position as a global cultural hub.
The signing was attended by Ahmad
bin Amer Al Mahri, Assistant Secretary
General of the Executive Council and
General Secretariat Affairs, as well
as Gene Jiao, President of Huawei
Consumer Business Group Middle East
and Africa at The Executive Council’s
offices in Emirates Towers in Dubai.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Shaibani,
Secretary General of the Executive
Council of Dubai, said: “This signing
solidifies Dubai’s position as a forward-
thinking city that is consistently on
the cusp of innovation. Dubai Font
is a new tool for self-expression and
