TRANSPORT SYSTEMS TO BECOME
A KEY PARTICIPANT IN SMART
MOBILITY BY USING MOBILITY-AS-
A-SERVICE (MAAS).
Orange already supports over 14 million
connected devices through its Datavenue
IoT and data analytics solution across a
variety of sectors, including automotive
and transport, smart cities, industry and
manufacturing and daily life (smart home,
healthcare and wearables).
Finland’s economic growth is primarily
driven by the increasing private consumption
and the improving transport infrastructure.
The country’s geographical location favours
trade with countries in Northern Europe
and helps attract foreign investors. A key
long-term factor that will contribute to the
enrichment of the Finnish economy is the
constructive partnership between trade
unions, the government and companies.
Finland is a member of the European Union
and the European Monetary Union and has
multilateral and bilateral trade agreements
with several countries.
The government has taken initiatives to
streamline regulations, promote competition
and encourage entrepreneurship to
support growth. The country is working
on technology-oriented transport systems
to become a key participant in smart
mobility by using Mobility-as-a-Service
(MaaS). Technology advancements, skilful
ICT professionals, MaaS and the use of
automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in
warehouses are the key transformational
trends in Finland. Digitisation will be the key
factor driving the transportation sector. The
major automotive ecosystem participants
are investing in infrastructure development.
Tech start-up companies are launching
innovative products, however, only a few
companies combine the old industrial
knowledge with the new IT skills.
In compliance with success of the
transportation industry in the Nordic region,
logistics company DACHSER Denmark have
noticed innovation growth as a business. The
company has presented its annual report,
showing positive results and a revenue of
DKK 868 million before taxes and a gross
income of DKK 18.4 million. DACHSER in
the Nordic region continues to grow with
a revenue of DKK 1.07 billion and a gross
income of DKK 35.5 million compared to
DKK 33.4 million in 2015 – an increase of
6.3% and the best results for the Nordic
group to this date.

been able to maintain this level in 2016
despite changing market conditions and
the development in international freight
