PROJECT UPDATE EGYPT A 32 megawatt (MW) hydropower plant is being developed in Assiut. The new barrage will be built 400 metres downstream of an existing barrage and includes a sluiceway with eight 17-metre-wide radial gates, a hydropower plant with four 8 MW turbine-generators, a double-chamber ship lock of 120 by 17-metre chamber size, a road bridge, an 11-metre-tall embankment dam and rehabilitation or replacement of the Ibrahimia canal head regulator. A section of the Nile River will also be deepened to mitigate any potential increase in groundwater levels in Assiut city and neighbouring areas. NIGERIA A 29-storey residential tower is being built in the dynamic new city of Eko Atlantic in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean. The development, called Sky Tower, comprises of five floors of parking space with 24 floors of two, three and four-bedroom apartments. It offers a 24-hour concierge service, as well as a luxurious reception and lounge area.
