I am a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Sociology on the Law, Crime, and Justice track. I was born and grew up in Dallas, Texas and knew the least you could know about camping and the outdoors. Because Texas is a flatland with very hot and humid weather, there weren't many opportunities to go camping. I enjoyed music and arts a lot more, so I ended up avoiding basically any athletic activities and relished in the humanities. I took art classes every other day and on Saturdays, I would go to an open art studio and continued to work on my pieces. During the week, I was blessed with almost unlimited access to higher quality art supplies, but on weekends I was on my own, so I had to learn how to be resourceful, which proved to be useful later on. Some of my pieces have been featured in literary magazines, some have been displayed in the Dallas Museum of Art, and one has been featured in an exhibit at the Museum of Geometric and MADI art in Dallas.

Before coming to San Diego and being exposed to breathtaking natural landscapes, I enjoyed drawing and painting human anatomy. My favorite type of media was oil on wood or collages because oil paint is slow-drying, and still easily manipulable long after it's placed down, but I also worked with oil, acrylic, watercolor, and charcoal to create mixed media pieces.
