During Catholic Schools ’ Week , the students of St . Catherine Elementary School in Kapa ‘ a on Kaua ‘ i recently donated 180 goodie bags to Wilcox Medical Center for hospitalized keiki and their siblings . Teachers provided the bags , and families sent in non-perishable items such as coloring books , crayons , toys , puzzles , stuffed animals and more . The festivities included the school ’ s annual pet blessing , which Wilcox ’ s Chief Canine Officer , Rudy , participated in . The pet blessing has become a tradition and the school has blessed animals ranging from a tiny fish to a horse for good wishes !
