R A D I OT H O N 2018 The 2018 Kapi‘olani Radiothon for Kids raised $289,334, the most ever raised in the Children’s Miracle Network event’s 12-year history. The benefit for Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children in partnership with KSSK 92.3 FM/AM 590 is made possible through the tireless work of our volunteers, KSSK listeners, radio personalities, and our patients and families who share their personal stories of hope and healing with our generous community. The two-day broadcast was filled with special moments and surprise donations that turned the annual fundraiser into a heartwarming experience. Holokai Catamaran surprised KSSK personalities and patients with two brand new wagons, shaped to look like a whale and turtle, for playful patient transportation around the medical center. By reaching out to their friends, family and clients, they were able to bring in an amazing $18,600 during their one-hour shift. ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE RADIOTHON, Shelley Wilson, presi- dent and CEO of Wilson Care Group, presented a check for $30,000 to inspire others to give. The donation helped pay for Miracle Moments Wish List items including assistive technology, such as adaptive switches that help make playing with interactive toys easier for some patients.
