Kevin Hart takes time to chat with students at Hartranft Elementary School in Philadelphia, PA. C omedian Kevin Hart has a very generous heart. Now that he’s been successful in stand-up comedy, movies, and reality television, Hart wants to help his hometown of Philadelphia with its educational challenges. Hart recently visited four schools in Philadelphia, and he donated 500 Sony touchscreen laptops to the district and the Parks and Recreation Department—just in time for the holidays. Hart even visited Hartranft Elementary School, where he spoke to the students. “I am what I am today because of Philadelphia. This city made me . . . . All of my education came from this city. You now have the ability to take these computers and do what nobody else can do, which is learn right now,” Hart told the Hartranft students in the school’s auditorium. “I want you guys to take advantage of this, man. This is something I’m very, very serious about.” Hart’s donation allows students to expand their studies and properly prepare for college and their careers. The children were excited to see Hart, but they seemed more excited about working on their brand new computers, something that thrilled Hart. “Coming here and actually seeing the computers put to use, it was shocking. Literally seeing the kids putting the computers to use put a smile on my face,” said Hart. We celebrate Kevin Hart for giving back to his community.
