In April you organized a public speaking contest on the topic of
‘’corruption at school’’ would you tell us more about it, please?
As I mentioned before, the purpose of English club is to train leaders and
develop committed citizens. A speaking contest is always a good way for
students to develop skills like speaking in public and so on. The chosen
topic is a real concern for all African people. Our Africa has for long been
suffering from bad leaders and corrupted citizens. So it is good to let
students discuss issues like corruption which is one of the blemishes that
are killing our beloved continent. This is the role of education. We believe
that our students are leaders and citizens of today and tomorrow. It is only
through education that Africa can see the light. Education has always been
the gateway for developed countries. The world hero Nelson Mandela once
put it
‘’Education is the most powerful
weapon we can use to change the
world’’
