When I received the e-mail from “Inspirational English” describing the theme for this month´s e-zine I
got started on the project as soon as I could, and the reason why is really rather simple…
How often are you given the opportunity to explore the first
thing that you would do if today was the last day of your life?
Once I had cleared the darker side of such a question from my mind I
drifted in many different directions, and after quite a remarkable self-
searching spiritual journey I settled on the chiming of the bells on a
radio that welcomed in the New Year of 2003 in the city of Salzburg,
Austria.
In time honoured fashion of a Scottish man, I had enjoyed several
glasses of a quite delicious local wine throughout the evening and after
standing up and hugging my girlfriend and wishing her a Happy
New Year, she smiled a very cheeky smile, gently pushed me away
from her, placed a finger to her lips, and indicated for me to wait.
