Hi Vanea. How did you come up with the idea about creating this wonderful educational colouring
book about Indigenous Cultures?
Culture is important to my family and I love exploring new places. I just wanted to share what I've
learned with other kids.
Your book takes kids around the world. How do you find information about the various cultures and
tribes depicted in your book?
We did feature my family's tribe and did research on the others. We watched documentaries and even
travelled to meet a few.
What did you learn about yourself and
your culture while creating the book?
That my culture is global. Indigenous people
all share a similar culture. I also learned
that people who look like me have
some of the oldest cultures around the world.
