looks like a mini cake . My teacher explains that this is a scone with some clotted cream and jam . I take a bite and find it blissful . I am smiling again .
It ’ s Friday morning and when we get up we see that it is raining cats and dogs . We decide to dedicate the day to some indoors activities , so we put on our raincoats after breakfast and go out . Brrrrr .. I can feel the chill in the air .
We head to Christ Church College . Yesterday , whilst we were punting , I caught a glimpse of that majestic building . We skip the beautiful gardens because of the rain and get tickets to visit the college . I have been told that it is one of the 38 colleges which make up the University of Oxford . When we step inside , I am impressed by the intricate architecture . We find the ceilings exceptionally beautiful . It makes me wonder how they were built hundreds of years ago .
Suddenly my teacher tells me : “ Come on , Frank , follow me . I have another surprise for you !”
I can see a sign which says “ Dining Room ”. “ Are we going to eat ?” I thought . When we enter the room , I get the feeling I have already seen it . Then a light bulb goes on above my head . HARRY POTTER ! This is the dining room featured in the first film about the famous magician . Wow , this is so exciting . I wonder if Harry Potter will appear and do a magic trick . I look around and notice all the portraits on the walls . Our tour guide says there were famous tutors at the college . I also find the ceiling very impressive . Then I make a decision that one day I will come back as a university student .
It is now 2 pm and we have planned to go to the Oxford University Museum of Natural History . I am a big fan of nature and science so when we step inside I feel stunned . The first thing that draws my attention is the enormous skeletons of dinosaurs . I look so tiny beside them . The museum is famous for the huge collection of fossils , minerals , stuffed animals and rare species . I find the displays both informative and interesting . I wish I could participate in one of the workshops but we are running out of time . I am particularly interested in fossils because they can tell us a lot about life on our planet thousands of years ago .
Sadly we have to say Goodbye to Oxford . We didn ’ t have the chance to see the Oxford Castle and the dungeon . But it is definitely on my to-do list for my next visit .
After such a long day we are exhausted so we have a light supper and go back to the B & B . Tomorrow we are going to the city of Bath .
See you in Bath next time !
