What do you love about teaching English ?

I have been an ESOL teacher for 17 years and I have to admit these have been the happiest years of my life . But let me answer the question . Firstly I have to say that I absolutely adore my job and my students are my life . Working as an English teacher I have been blessed to teach students from so many countries- Bulgaria , Spain , Italy , China , Saudi Arabia , Japan to name but a few . Not only did I help them fall in love with English , but they also taught me about their culture and customs . Moreover , I learnt that a teacher should be a supportive and inspiring role model by all means . I laugh with my students , get nervous about their exam results , encourage them when it is hard and praise them for their success . But what do other ESOL teachers think on the subject ?
Joanne Aronson , China I love seeing a student ’ s face when they " get it ". I love listening to how they " think in English ". I do not look for perfection . I look for confidence . I teach in China . I tell my students " just communicate ". I could go on and on . I love teaching . Every time I teach , I also learn .
Bongjin Lee , South Korea
It is so exciting to teach students how to EXPRESS what they want to say in English .
Denitsa Stoeva , Bulgaria I work with students from 10 to 15 years old . I love teaching in English because of all small challenges I get every day . I love the time when my students find missing words in a text and their happy faces , eyes full with joy . I love the time when my deaf students started reading in English , it is not the best reading but it is their fist step . I love the time when they get the points from kahoot quiz . My students are my inspiration , my challenge and my happiness .
