Struggle
“We often give up, find excuses or settle for less,
because we don’t fully understand who we are.”

In times of struggle or moments of greatest
bliss, artists from every era have captured the
human spirit through the experiential scope of
their unique understanding. From the Soviet
Union’s economic upheaval to American
opportunism and prosperity, feminist oil
painter, Veronica Winters, combines traditional
European aesthetics with the assertive
ideologies of Western culture in her thought-
provoking collections.
Born in a communist country during a time
of great unrest, Winters was raised in a land
ravaged by economic distress and desperation.
While in high school, she experienced the
jarring aftermath of the Soviet Union’s collapse
in 1991, which left Russia in a “surreal mode
of survival, with millions of people struggling
to push through it.”
