10- Relay for Life of Calhoun County McClellan Soccer Fields Join the fight against cancer and the movement t create a world with more birthday by participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Calhoun County . This inspiring overnight event unites the entire community in celebrating those who have had cancer , remembering loved ones lost , and providing an opportunity to fight back against the disease . Relay for Life supports the American Cancer Society ’ s mission to save lives by helping people stay well , by helping people get well , by finding cures and by fighting back . Last year the Relay for LIfe of Calhoun County raised more than $ 340,000 for the fight against cancer .
11- 2nd Annual 5K Race Piedmont Benevolence Center – 8am to 110am – Piedmont High School . The 2nd Annual 5K Race benefiting the Piedmont Benevolence Center , a non-profit charitable organization that assists the needy with food , clothing and crisis assistance in the Piedmont area , will be held at the Piedmont High School Football Stadium on May 11th ,
2013 , 8:00 a . m . Registration will begin at 6:30 a . m . until 7:30 a . m . Food , prizes and awards will follow the race . Entry Fee is $ 20 before May 1st ($ 4 discount to ARC members ). Race day registration is $ 25 . Please register by May 1st to guarantee a shirt . On race day shirts will be available while supply lasts .
