SINGERS INVITED TO PERFORM AS PART OF BRIGHTON FESTIVAL 2017
Brighton Festival is looking for 100-125 singers to perform
as part of a special inter-choral choir for a large-scale,
cross-art outdoor performance, featuring song, dance
and physical theatre, as part of Brighton Festival 2017.
Singers from all walks of life and levels of musical
experience are invited to take part in this event. You can
either take part independently, as part of a small group or
bring your whole choir along. The music will be learned
independently over five months from January – May,
and supported by regular rehearsals.
You do not need to be able to sight-sing or read music
to take part, as all the music will be taught aurally at the
rehearsals, and you do need access to a computer and
the internet. The event is completely free to participate
in – choirs and choir leaders who are interested, please

your interest by Thursday 6th January.
28TH SUSSEX BUSINESS AWARDS
2016 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
500 of the county’s leading business people, including the Mayor
of Brighton and Hove, and Peter Kyle MP, gathered to celebrate
business excellence across the region at the Sussex Business
Awards, with 17 awards presented by comedian, Simon Evans.
The winners were drawn from 42 finalists representing 27 Sussex
towns.
HILTON AVISFORD PARK’S
‘HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR BALL’
RAISES £10,000
On Saturday November 12th 2016, Hilton Avisford Park hosted their
annual charity ball in partnership with the DM Thomas Foundation for
Young People. The theme was ‘Hollywood glamour’, and the Grand
Hall at the hotel was suitably decked out in a stunning monochrome
colour scheme with elegant centrepieces provided by VIP Venues.
The awards were presented at The Grand, Brighton, which was
shortlisted for Best Customer Service – ultimately awarded to The
Dental Barn. The big winner on the night was Stelfox, who won
International Business (sponsore d by Natures Way Food) and the
Best Employer (sponsored by Morgan Sindall).
After a warm welcome by general manager, Iain Pollock, MC
for the evening, Steve Cook, kept everything running smoothly
ensuring there was plenty of time for guests to enjoy dancing and
playing on the casino tables.
The accolade of Company of the Year (sponsored by Mazars) was
awarded to International Logistics Group (ILG) who were one of
five on the shortlist, while last year’s winner of the Small Business
of the Year, Ridgeview Wine Estate, was named as ‘One to Watch’
in the International Business category. Full list of winners at

The event was extremely successful raising almost £10,000 for
local charities and the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People,
whose mission is to improve the education and wellbeing of
disabled, sick and disadvantaged young people, and whose vision
is of a world where all children and young people are able to
transform their lives for the better.
