EVENTS Fireworks Hastings’ Fireworks // 15 Oct Battle Bonfire // 5 Nov Stealing a march on most other bonfires, Hastings beach is the venue for the Hastings bonfire celebrations. During the spectacular torchlit procession starting from The Stade, a bonfire and fireworks will commemorate the Battle of Hastings, as well as the traditional gunpowder plot. This event is held to coincide with Hastings Week, which celebrates the Battle of Hastings. There is a torchlit procession through the streets, followed by a bonfire and fireworks on the beach. Guy Fawkes is said to have sourced his gunpowder from the Battle powder mills and the Battel Bonfire Boyes - one of the world's oldest membership societies - commemorate this fact in style. They're responsible for organising the unmissable Battle Bonfire celebrations, with a torchlight procession, plenty of noise and a fabulous firework display. From 6pm. There will be over 30 processions during the Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations, all intermingling with each other through the narrow streets of Lewes with the Bonfire Night Celebration processions starting around 5pm and finishing about 1am.
