Apple Day Brighton // 2 Oct
Apple Day Brighton, hosted by Brighton Permaculture Trust, has
been growing annually from strength to strength and has quickly
become established as an annual date for the diary. Each year, Apple
Day Brighton is organised and delivered by a large, committed team
comprising the core trustees, a sizeable key management team and
around 100 enthusiastic volunteers. Buy delicious homemade produce
from the stalls - you won't be able to resist the chutneys, preserves,
ciders, juice and, of course, freshly picked apples from local orchards.
For the first time, the Brighton Permaculture Trust bar will be proudly
serving their very own ‘Stanmer Scrumpy’, made with apples from
their scrumping project.
Plant/Woman Series 2016 // 1-30 Oct
Rick Fullwood only takes photographs of plants he has grown. In the
latest installment of his Plant/Woman series, he juxtaposes the female
form with red and white tulips. The moody and shadowy atmosphere
reflects an interest of the Dutch master painters and the desperate
emptiness of a loss in the family. The sequence of three suggests a
narrative quality to the work. The tulip represents elegance and grace;
the red is devotion and love, the white is purity and peace.

Ronan Keating // 2 Oct
2016 will see Ronan take to the
road, touring his tenth studio album,
aptly entitled, Time Of My Life. Right
now, Keating is all about this album;
the album of his life and a record on
which he’s dug deep, pushed hard,
and been unafraid of wearing his
heart (and his tunes) on his sleeve.
The album is the first fruits of not
only a rejuvenating relationship with
his new record label, Decca, but also a genuinely content place in
life and love. These are instantly affecting songs of celebration and
emotion, of love and loss and more importantly…honesty.
Battle Festival
// 1-31 Oct
Battle Festival

exciting, diverse
and family friendly

Primrose Piano Quartet, where the venue is transformed into a jungle!
The Primrose will also perform Schubert's, ‘The Trout Quintet’, by
candlelight. Theatre and dance highlights include classic, The Ladykillers,
and a blast from the past with SpiltMilk Dance. Visiting authors include
the master of crime, Peter James, alongside art exhibitions, workshops,
demonstrations, astronomy, history and much more.
Keating says: “This is the music I’ve always wanted to make. This
is who I am and it feels absolutely right. To go out with all this new
material and playing guitar will be so exciting; these songs were
written for live performance.”
