RACECOURSE // 21 AUG
Open Studios 3-4 and 10-11 September
Gallop up to Brighton Racecourse on Sunday 21st August for the
Family Fun Day, which will be packed full of fun and entertainment
for children of all ages and adults alike.
This year, Coastal Currents Arts Festival supports ROOT 1066
Festival of Contemporary Arts as they celebrate the 950th
anniversary of the Battle of Hastings with a one-off festival. Coastal
Currents will continue to do what it does best and provide you with
one of the finest celebrations of art and culture in the south east.
Make sure you get there on time to secure a trackside spot to watch
the unmissable, famous Mascot Race at 1.00pm. Will Rowlf the Dog
romp in first again this year, or will Gully the Seagull fly out in front?
There are also heaps of free activities to enjoy all afternoon including
bungee trampolines, face painting, Punch and Judy, a bouncy
castle, land zorbs, and colouring and crafts, plus much more.
Showcasing a packed programme of events and exhibitions, and
of course the lifeblood of Coastal Currents - the much loved Open
Studios trails, which are this year happening throughout the 1066
region. With a great deal of new studios to explore and so many
choices in each area, it makes sense to save the dates in your diary
now.
Throughout the day, there will be seven thrilling races to watch and
have a flutter on, and children can see the horses and jockeys up
close in the parade ring before and after each race.
There’s a wide range of food and drink available all day long, from
hot dogs to a three-course meal in the fabulous Silks Restaurant, or
just coffee and cakes. What’s more, there’s a fantastic competition
offering the chance to win a table for four at Silks Restaurant
courtesy of Family Fun Day sponsor, Deliveroo; visit the Family Fun
Day page of the Brighton Racecourse website for full details.
