Homemade Bath Bombs
A bath is a wonderful thing, but when it is enhanced with homemade bath
bombs that have been made using all natural ingredients and are totally
gorgeous, it’s the best thing in the world. Near enough. These bath bombs
make superb presents too.
What you will need:
• 64g cornstarch
• 64g citric acid
• 128g baking soda
• 2 tsp shea butter
(melted in the microwave)
• 1 tsp water
• Measuring spoons
• A mixing bowl
• A wooden spoon
• Christmas tree baubles
(cut carefully in half)
• Food colouring (optional)
• 2-4 tsp essentias oils (optional)
• Dried flower petals (optional)
What you do:
• Mix the cornstarch, citric acid and
baking soda all up together in the
bowl and then, when it’s all
combined, drizzle the melted shea
butter over the top. If you’re using
essential oils or flower petals, now
is the time to pop a couple of
drops of that in too. Blend it all
up with the wooden spoon.

• Once it is all mixed up, pour in
the water. If you are using food
colouring you can put that in too.
Watch out for the fizzing that will
start to happen once the mixture
gets wet! It’s okay, it’s supposed
to do that.
• Now you can scoop your bath
bomb mixture into the two halves
of the bauble before placing the
halves back together again. Once
you’ve used up as much mixture
as you can – or you’ve run out of
moulds – you can leave the
leftover mix to dry out and bottle
it; it makes a great bath powder.
• Pop the full moulds onto some
greaseproof or wax paper
overnight to allow to dry. Carefully
remove the moulds the next day
and you’ve got some stunning
homemade bath bombs! To use,
simply drop one into your bath as
the water is running.
