CHARITY Get Active for Charity Raising money for charity is something that we should all take part in at least once in a while. These charities work tirelessly for us, so it’s good to give something – literally – back. And it can even be fun! With so many active ways to participate and raise money, there has never been a better time to get fit and healthy whilst helping others. It’s a true win-win situation if ever there was one. Skydive for Pilgrims Hospice Pretty Muddy 5K St Catherine's Hospice Midnight Walk, Horsham // 2 July Skydive for Pilgrims Hospices, Kent // 23 July This midnight walk gives women the choice of walking either seven, 13 or 20 miles through the night in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley. Ditch the beauty sleep and get walking to benefit this end of life care centre! The walk begins at 6.30pm in Horsham Park and continues on into the night. No experience is required as this will be a tandem jump and your skilled instructor will help you every step of the way. The Bubble Rush is a one of a kind event in which you have to run through walls of different coloured bubbles. And these are not just any old walls – these are 4 feet high! The route is completely child friendly, so why not make this a family day out? It’s fun, frantic, and it raises much needed money for Demelza, a charity which provides hospice care for over 800 children with life limiting illnesses across Kent, East Sussex and South East London. Choose from five different options (100km one day, 100km two day, 50km half day (first and second half choices) or 23km quarter day) and be prepared to walk, walk, walk. With incredible views, steep hills and the chance to see both sunrise and sunset as you still keep trudging along, this will end with the most overwhelming sense of achievement. Since the route takes you along the South Downs Way, which is off road for 75% of the time, you really can just enjoy the walk. Plus there is free food and drink at every rest stop.
