Things to Do
The Bluebell Railway
The volunteer-run Bluebell Line was the UK's first preserved standard
gauge passenger railway. Since the 60s, it has developed into one of the
largest tourist attractions in Sussex, with different events on throughout
the year and a museum at nearby Sheffield Park Station.
Pepper Dining
Located on the High Street, Pepper Dining serves an eclectic blend of
Asian-inspired food in a contemporary setting. Food served includes
shimla chicken - grilled tandoori chicken off the bone, and chingri bahar, a
king prawn dish cooked with special spices.
Sheffield Park & Garden
The historic parkland at Sheffield Park & Garden dates back several
centuries and has had many uses, but is now home to a wildlife haven,
Skyglade, and the natural woodland play trail in Ringwood Toll. The garden
itself includes four lakes, circular paths, and beautiful wooded areas.
Annual Events
Steam Engine Rally // Jun
Held at Tinkers Park, the annual steam rally is a highlight in Uckfield’s
calendar. Enjoy the family atmosphere as you ride on 'The Great Bush'
narrow gauge railway, and browse the stalls selling clothes, tools, bric-abrac, and collectables.
Bluebell Vineyard Estates
Bluebell Vineyard is one of the UK’s leading sparkling wine producers.
They specialise in the production of award-winning, estate-grown English
sparkling wines; visit the vineyard to enjoy a guided tour, a tasting, or a
picnic in the grounds.
Uckfield Blues & Roots Festival // Jul
This special event has a warm and friendly atmosphere and attracts not
only musicians, but also music lovers from home and abroad.
