TOWNSPOTLIGHT Things to Do The Bluebell Railway The volunteer-run Bluebell Line was the UK's first preserved standard gauge passenger railway. Since the 60s, it has developed into one of the largest tourist attractions in Sussex, with different events on throughout the year and a museum at nearby Sheffield Park Station. Pepper Dining Located on the High Street, Pepper Dining serves an eclectic blend of Asian-inspired food in a contemporary setting. Food served includes shimla chicken - grilled tandoori chicken off the bone, and chingri bahar, a king prawn dish cooked with special spices. Sheffield Park & Garden The historic parkland at Sheffield Park & Garden dates back several centuries and has had many uses, but is now home to a wildlife haven, Skyglade, and the natural woodland play trail in Ringwood Toll. The garden itself includes four lakes, circular paths, and beautiful wooded areas. Annual Events Steam Engine Rally // Jun Held at Tinkers Park, the annual steam rally is a highlight in Uckfield’s calendar. Enjoy the family atmosphere as you ride on 'The Great Bush' narrow gauge railway, and browse the stalls selling clothes, tools, bric-abrac, and collectables. Bluebell Vineyard Estates Bluebell Vineyard is one of the UK’s leading sparkling wine producers. They specialise in the production of award-winning, estate-grown English sparkling wines; visit the vineyard to enjoy a guided tour, a tasting, or a picnic in the grounds.
