Lucy Worsley: The First Georgians // 2 Apr
Journey through the weird world of the Georgian court as Lucy tells
the story of her favourite queen, Caroline. Using eighteenth-century
paintings, court memoirs, palace diaries and intimate letters, Lucy
recounts the adventures and trials of Caroline’s life, explaining the
unlikely turn of events that led an orphaned princess from a tiny
German state to sit upon the British throne.
Kindly Leave The Stage // 1 Apr
The much-lauded Kindly Leave The Stage premiered in 1993 and is
a light-hearted take on the complete theatricality of stage folk. It is
a celebration of fun, mayhem and thespian mischief and is a similar
format to Noises Off – a play within a play. The ensemble go head-tohead as they play the characters in the play and the actors who are
in the play. It’s a fast-paced farce, which is easy to watch and lots of
fun. Jealousy, revelations and precious actors’ ego are revealed as
Baroque Theatre Company bring celebrated John Chapman’s crisp
writing and hilarious double entendres to life.
