EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH A year of celebration for Bethany School This year is one of great excitement at Bethany School, which is celebrating 150 years since its founding by Reverend JJ Kendon in 1866. They have already enjoyed a number of events, such as an inspirational Founder’s Service, the unveiling of their Commemorative Tree – a sculpture designed and constructed by pupil James Hunter – and the launch of the digitised School archives. A number of other events are planned for the coming months, culminating in a Grand Celebratory Ball, to take place on 2nd July. They are in the advanced stages of planning, and it is shaping up to be an unforgettable night of festivities. Tickets are available via [email protected]. The school is also delighted to have launched The Bethany Network this year, bringing together over 3,800 members internationally including former pupils, local business leaders, parents and staff. Find out more at www.thebethanynetwork.com. Bethany has always been proud to see the continuing development of its campus and facilities, and this year is no exception. They have extended their existing Sixth Form boarding facilities with a brand new extension, increasing the capacity for boarding places from September, and are nearing completion of the new 25m, six-lane indoor swimming pool ready for use this summer term. On the curriculum front, this year has seen the introduction of Mandarin into Year 7, as well as GCSE Dance and A level Economics. This year is looking to be like no other before it at Bethany. If you would like to find out more about what Bethany can offer your child, then do come along to an Open Morning on Tuesday, 26th April or Saturday, 24th September.
