Is technology the secret
behind beautiful skin?
Unless you’ve had your head under a beauty rock the past few years (or you’re Cindy ‘agedefying’ Crawford), you must have noticed the steady march that technology has made into the
beauty aisles. Especially where cleansing is concerned. There’s an enormous range of electric
cleansing brushes out there nowadays, all promising to pulsate, vibrate and massage at least 10
years off our faces in a matter of minutes a day. Polly Humphris tested out Magnitone London’s
Full Monty Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush in a bid to turn back time.
Ever heard of the term ‘skin gym’? If you have,
you’re already one step ahead of me. Now,
I’ve always been aware of lotions, potions, and
serums all promising to turn back the ageing
clock, but I’ve never forayed into the world of
gadgetry. Until now. Word on the 2016 street
is that our faces can benefit just as much
from a good workout as our bodies: manual
cleansing is out, and vibra-sonic technology

tones skin, and boosts micro-circulation for a
youthful glow – is in.

charging and a change of heads in usually out
of my remit, but I was wrong to be worried.
It’s an incredibly easy to use piece of skin kit
with five very easy to understand settings:
daily cleanse; sensitive; pulselift toning; body
exfoliate; and pedi-buff. The first three are for
your face and the last two are for your body
and feet respectively; as the name suggests,
the Full Monty isn’t a one-trick pony and can
actually be used to smooth and de-rough from
head to toe.
Three weeks into my relationship with the
Magnitone Full Monty and I can honestly
say that if we were ever to break up I’d be
truly heartbroken. Having tried all three facial
modes, I’ve gotten into a comfortable groove
using ‘sensitive’ in the morning when my skin
has just woken up, and ‘pulselift toning’ in
the evening for a deeper cleanse; the brush
is feathery soft and each facial
