EVENTS One-Man Band // 11 Mar Toast // 14-19 Mar One-Man Band is the third volume in Simon Callow’s epic survey of Orson Welles’ life and work. He, once again, probes in comprehensive and penetrating detail into one of the most complex artists of the twentieth century, looking closely at the triumphs and failures of an ambitious one-man assault on one medium after another – theatre, radio, film, television, even, at one point, ballet – in each of which his radical and original approach opened up new directions and hitherto unglimpsed possibilities. Starring Olivier Award winner, Matthew Kelly. Another Sunday night shift. The smell of bread baking. The industrial thump, thump, thump of the machines that never stop. The ovens are cranked up to full blast, the factory is humming, and everyone wants to be somewhere else. But, this shift is going to be different. Because when a crisis hits the factory, the men have more to lose than just their wages. 7.30pm (Wednesday and Saturday matinees 2.30pm).
