VALENTINE’S IS ON ITS WAY! WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAPPEN? SO DUST

This season’s hottest trends are colourdrenched juicy berry lips; deep, rich
opulent tones and shades of blood red
crimson. Positively romantic!
Add a splash of colour…and don’t forget the
mascara!
How to create the easiest
smoky eye ever
• Again using your chosen shade (I love to go for
warm coppers, wines and bronze to warm the look
up), gently pat onto the lid and softly blend to
disperse the colour and leave an even finish.
If you are hitting the town and looking to
attract some serious attention then maybe
a deep, sexy, smoky eye could be exactly
what you need to create a lasting
impression?
• Take your black pencil kohl liner and place your
finger lightly under the lower lash line and pull down
slightly. Now draw along your waterline (the inner
eye line) and along the lash line to blend the inner
eye line with the bottom eyelid.
• Pat a little black or brown (depending
on intensity of colour required) gel liner
onto the eyelid. Don't be too generous,
you can always add more if you need
to (I use ActiDerm Gel Liner £11.50).
• Using a pencil brush or even a cotton bud, apply
your chosen eyeshadow along the lower lash line
and blend. This will create serious impact and
smouldering smoky eyes.
• Using a fluffy blending brush, gently
blend in circular movements from the lid
to slightly above the socket line. Make
sure you apply product to one eye at a
time as gel liner tends to set a lot quicker.
• Blend to just around the crease of your
eye.
• Take a new or clean fluffy blending brush
and softly blend Mac Eyeshadow in
Shroom, or a similar neutral slightly
metallic shade over the brow bone and
slightly into the black gel you have already
blended. This will give a seamless finish
and make the black look as though it
melts into the skin.
• Generously drench your lashes in mascara
(ActiDerm Skyscraper lash is fab) and apply false
lashes if you wish.
No look is ever complete without perfect brows
• Using a brow brush or old mascara wand, comb
your brows to place the hairs in the direction they
should be heading.
• To draw jaw-dropping brows, reach for an angled
brow liner brush; this will ensure perfect precision
and make sure your brows don’t end up too heavy.
• ActiDerm Brow Wax is one of the finest brow
products to ever grace my makeup kit. Its
smudgeproof, waterproof, long-lasting formula
leaves brows looking natural and on point. Using
64
the brow liner, you can create the illusion of tiny
hairs and make your brows as defined and strong
as you wish.
Pucker up for the perfect pout
Strong berry shades are absolutely ideal to
compliment a vintage soft-winged liner, curly lashes
and gentle hues on the eyes.
• Line the lips using a lip liner pencil. It's a good idea
to try and match the lipstick/ lipstain with the lipliner
colour. Or you can go slightly darker than the
chosen lip colour and create a slight ombre lip.
• My favourite product at the moment is NYX Soft
Matt Lip Colour in Copenhagen. The celebs are
going wild for this shade! So of it’s good enough
for them it's good enough for us!
• If your lip line is not as precise and crisp as you
were hoping for then I have a simple solution to
make you look like the "lip expert". Using a flat liner
brush, use a little concealer or foundation and draw
around the outer line of your lips to erase any stray
lines. This will help to give the illusion of highlighted
and plumper lips!
