VEGAN FESTIVAL EXPECTS TO ATTRACT 12,000 VISITORS TO BRIGHTON
Europe's prime vegan festival, VegfestUK,
returns to the Brighton Centre on February
27th and 28th after a very successful event last
year that drew in 12,000 visitors.
Whether you are vegan or not, there are
lots of interesting features at the show, that
promise to leave you hard pushed not to warm
to veganism. Brand new activities this year
include an activists summit, with workshops,
talks and discussions on vegan advocacy; a
vegan summit for teachers, showing teachers
and individuals in the teaching profession
how to promote veganism in schools; and a
‘Mature Zone’, with extra seating for visitors in
their advanced years looking for tips on vegan
nutrition and health.
Dr. Alan Lee, VegfestUK operations manager,
added: "It's fantastic to see the continued
growth of demand for a vegan ethos that
puts justice for both human and non-human
animals at the forefront of our agenda to make
the world a better place. People all over the
UK are warming to the idea that veganism is
actually a joy instead of sacrifice, and most
importantly, no non-human animals are used in
the process. At VegfestUK, we are balancing a
clear vegan message with lots of fun activities
in store for an amazing day out for all.”
VegfestUK organiser, Tim Barford, says: "This
year’s show is going to be bigger and better;
we love our new home on Brighton seafront
at the prestigious Brighton Centre. The
atmosphere in Brighton last year was amazing
and the feedback we received was incredible.”
