ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE RUSH HAIR AT HAYWARDS HEATH Since its very first salon opening Rush Hair has been at the forefront of hair design, with an award-winning artistic team, cutting edge techniques and its own dedicated Rush Training Academy. One of the things that sets Rush aside is its academy. Not content with an all too common industry approach of just training apprentices, Rush incorporates training and development across its whole team, giving us, the clients at the end of the scissors, well-trained, confident hairstylists who are always at the forefront of new cutting and colouring technique. So of course it was with much excitement that I arrived at Rush’s newest addition, store 69 no less, the brand spanking new salon in Haywards Heath, which opened its doors on 5th September. After a couple of hours of slicing and snipping, a bit of balayage (which in case you missed it, is the current go-to colour technique, which is having a major comeback due to its ability to create softer natural looks with less regrowth lines) and some impressive blow drying and lastly some sleek simple wand curls, my hair experience was done! They say first impressions count and here everyone was great – the glossy black tiles, sleek bucket chairs and chrome glass shelves displaying the range of Redken, Loreal and Kerastase products, presented an image as sleek as the blow drys. The salon itself has been skillfully designed to produce dedicated client stations making the most use of light and space. To some well-received oohs and ahhs I left the salon swishing my curls and indeed with my hair confidence restored. Thrust into the capable hands of salon manager Ruth, who, unfazed by the hotpotch colour and lack of decent cut that my unruly barnet presented, was quick to recommend colours that would prevent the dreaded fade that has happened all to often in the past, as well as a dying technique that would make the most of tone and clarity.
