rooms offering an extensive range of treatments. I chose an Indian head
massage, to relieve the stress of the week and emerged an hour later
feeling truly wonderful.

We finished our meal with continental coffee and biscuits, before making
our way to our room and the wonderful promise of crisp white sheets.
Whether it is an occasion, a business meeting, wedding, celebration, or a
simple weekend escape, at Park House Hotel and Spa, the customer
most definitely comes first. This wonderful hidden gem is one we will no
doubt be adding to our ‘favourite places’ list, and already can’t wait to
return.

With 30 lengths of the pool under my belt, I made my way to the steam
room and showers and now, vitalised, exfoliated and rejuvenated, it was
time to return to our room and prepare for dinner.
As we made our way through to the orangerie to peruse the menus, we
were offered drinks and nibbles and a chance to contemplate the
amazing views of the gardens and the South Downs.
After some very difficult decision making, we chose the asparagus, quail
egg, truffle, Parma ham and Hollandaise sauce; and the salad of tomato
and mozzarella with basil and pine nuts to start. It was excellent, full of
flavour and perfectly cooked. The professionalism of the owners and staff
were exemplary; excellent timing, courteous and efficient.
For our main, we chose beef fillet, tail and cheek, with watercress, cherry
tomatoes, oyster mushrooms and confit of new potatoes; and the loin
and belly of pork with barbeque sauce and roasted sweet corn. The menu
is made from fresh locally sourced produce, expertly cooked and
beautifully presented. The flavours were balanced and crisp and the
vegetables cooked to perfection.

The bright, airy dining room and excellent meal provided a wonderfully
memorable dining experience and as we loosened our belts and took a
moment to choose a dessert, it was already clear to me that we would be
returning here very soon.
