Avenue Q
// 1 July
Revealing The Nature Around
Us: Solo Art Exhibition by Claire
Harrison // 2 July – 5 Sep
Winner of the Tony
Awards Triple Crown
for Best Musical, Best
Score and Best Book,
Avenue Q is part flesh,
part felt and packed
with heart. Following
five years in the West
End and sell-out runs
worldwide (packed
with mischief, bad
behaviour and political
incorrectness) this
hugely entertaining
show is hitting the
road on a brand new tour! Created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez (cocreator of Book of Mormon and writer of the songs for Disney’s Frozen)
Avenue Q is an irresistibly charming musical which tells the story of the
loveable characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense
of life’s burning issues. Hilarious, cheeky and uproariously entertaining,
with a terrific batch of songs performed by a cast of hugely talented
performers and puppets, Avenue Q is the musical like no other. Suitable
for audiences 14+
7.30pm. Price: £25-£28

Local artist, Claire Harrison, will be having
a solo exhibition at Horsham Museum and
Art Gallery of paintings based upon the
Sussex countryside. Claire’s work explores
the miniature, miniscule and microscopic, of
both the floral and insect world, and she will
often attempt to crawl under the smallest wildflower and photograph
from below as if she was an insect looking up. Claire is fascinated with
camouflage and often hides insects within her work by cleverly using tone
to conceal these little creatures. Just as you need to search to find mini
beasts in a field, the audience will need to pause to find all the hidden
dimensions in Claire’s work.
