Run by Magdalena and Nick of Bexleyheath-based Cocoa and Heart, the course will guide you through the bread baking process from beginning to end, including finding the perfect recipe, the different types of bread, and how to get that crunchy crust we all love. The course takes place in a huge Victorian mansion that has six ovens in its large, spacious kitchen, and all food is included in the price. These food-smoking courses in Cumbria are practical and hands on, and can be carried out on either a one-day or a two-day trip. Here you will get to taste perfectly smoked food as well as learn how to prepare it, and as an extra, you will learn about the history of smoking food, and some useful hints and tips on how to do it in your own home. The one-day courses include smoking around 14 different types of food using seven different smokers (both hot and cold), and you’ll get to prepare your own lunch, which can be enjoyed with a glass of fizz!
