Discovery Run Entries Open
ENTRY IS NOW OPEN FOR THE DISCOVERY RUN

TAKING PLACE AT THE STUNNING PETWORTH
PARK ON SATURDAY 30TH MAY 2015.
Offering 5km, 10km and half-marathon distances and a Fun Run,
the Discovery Run will take in the beautiful 700-acre grounds
of Petworth Park amongst the rolling hills of West Sussex. The
Discovery Run offers a challenge for all levels of fitness and running
ability allowing entrants to run wild and discover nature. Runners
will make their way along undulating single lap courses, twist and
turn through woodland areas, race through open parkland, navigate
the deer park and take in the views of the picturesque lakes,
culminating in a memorable finish in front of Petworth House.
Commenting on the event, Louise Cornish, events director said:
“The tagline is Your Challenge. Your Discovery.’,and we ask the
participant to make their own discovery, whether they are doing
their first ever race, looking to conquer a new course, or purely
wanting to explore further into the depths of Petworth Park.”

The 2015 Mid Summer Ball, famed for its Strictly Come Dancing theme,
sees the return of local TV and radio star, Zoe Ball, as head judge. Along
with her panel, she will help score those brave enough to take part in the
dance competition in front of nearly 500 guests.
Ryan Heal, chief executive of Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, said: “We
are delighted to have been chosen as the local beneficiary charity of
the Hilton Brighton Metropole’s Mid Summer Ball for the third year and
we look forward to working closely with new general manager Sascha
Koehler and his team.
Four celebrities and local personalities will be attempting The Charleston
1920’s inspired dance at the Great Gatsby themed charity ball with their
expert partners. Announced at the recent launch party, this year’s dancers
are Eleanor Harris, chief executive of the Brighton i360 tower; Barry
Carden, managing director of Cardens Accountants in Hove; and Heart
Sussex Breakfast Show co-hosts Nicola Hume and Tom Evans.
“We’d like to extend our thanks to Skerritts who are our headline
sponsors again this year, as well as all of our event and media partners
that make the ball possible. Special thanks to our dancers Barry Carden,
Eleanor Harris, Nicola Hume and Tom Evans who will be taking part in the
1920’s themed dance competition and helping to raise money for children
The annual event will be raising money for Hilton in the Community
Foundation – which helps young people have a brighter future in Brighton,
across the UK and Europe; and Rockinghorse Children’s Charity who are
the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in
Brighton.
Hosted by the team at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, guests will enjoy a
sparkling drinks reception, three-course dinner with wine plus the Strictly
Come Dancing style dance competition and entertainment courtesy of
the E3 Group. Guests will also have the opportunity to take part in various
fundraising activities on the night, including a charity auction as well as
enjoying the infamous indoor dodgems.
The launch night also welcomed the new general manager of the Hilton
Brighton Metropole, Sascha Koehler, to the city. He said: “I am excited
to be part of this great city and to be involved in this fantastic event!
Working together with Rockinghorse Children’s Charity and the Hilton in
the Community Foundation is an exciting project and we look forward to
hosting the Mid Summer Ball at the Hilton Brighton Metropole on June
20th.”
