The Royal Pavilion Estate and The First
World War // 29 Mar
From 1914 to 1919 the Royal Pavilion, Dome and Corn
Exchange were used by the military as hospitals, first for
soldiers from Indian regiments then by British Limbless
men who were taught skills to help them get post-war
work. This tour explores the spaces transformed for
medical use and includes archive photographs, letters
and documents. Also includes exclusive backstage
access to the Dome, Corn Exchange and a glimpse of
the famous secret tunnel.

Seven Sisters Family Event // 30 Mar
Easter is just around the corner, the children are on
holiday so why not come down to the Seven Sisters
Country Park and venture into the Pump Barn for lots of
fun Easter activities? Things to make, eggs to blow and
paint, seeds to sow, lots of paint, glue and clay to get you
feeling creative. If the weather is good why not follow the
wildlife Easter trail through the woods in search of spring?

THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT THE HEFFLE
CUCKOO FAYRE
It’s taking place in Heathfield in aid of Demelza Hospice Care for Children
on Saturday 18th April from 11am to 4pm. The event is organised by the
charity’s Heathfield Friends’ Group.
There will be vintage and classic cars, a steam train, country crafts,
flowers and plants, a display of scarecrows, Summer Solstice
Morris Dancers, barbecue and traditional foods, dog show,
falconry display, a traditional funfair and of course
cuckoos released as well as many more attractions.
Entry is free.
Demelza is a children’s hospice charity which
provides community nursing care to more than 150
children with life-limiting and life-threatening
conditions and their families in
East Sussex.
