The Coal Shed is a gourmet steak and seafood restaurant in the heart of Brighton . Named as one of the best restaurants in the UK by the prestigious Observer Food Monthly awards , it has also been recommended by The Telegraph and The Guardian , amongst others .
Our method is simple : the highest quality ingredients , expertly cooked . As well as a seasonal à la carte menu , we also offer daily specials and a great value express lunch menu . Specialities include a range of 35-day , dry aged Scottish steaks from the North Highlands in Scotland , as well as a wide selection of fish dishes including octopus , oysters , sea bass and lobster .
However , our menu is not prescriptive . Instead we offer a variety of cuts and weights of meat and fish alongside various side orders to cater
for each individual , or to share as you please . Furthermore , the ‘ Specials ’ change daily and our menu adapts seasonally to ensure the best use of local , sustainable ingredients .
For those special occasions , we also offer a private dining room , seating up to 14 .
