Cancer has touched every one of us in one way or another, and this event is designed to raise money for charity to help combat it. This is a wonderful way to find joy in sadness – it celebrates life and love. Who’s on at the inaugural Gig for Life? Just a few of the acts include 10cc, Toploader, Jono Harrison and Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young. WOODLANDS FESTIVAL // 9-11 JUNE A new festival is coming to Kent this summer – and it will have plenty of activities for you and your kids! Woodlands Festival will take place at Elm Wood in Hawkhurst, and will include live music, kids' discos, bush craft workshops, woodland treasure hunts and storytelling during the three-day event. The festival has been set up to raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK & Cancer Research UK, so a great weekend for two very good causes! The live music element will be jammed-packed full of talented local artists, performing on two stages. When the kids' entertainment wraps up and they're tucked away in their sleeping bags, the Woodlands Silent Disco will start up, so you can dance the night away under the stars. Also on offer is a giant outdoor silent cinema, complete with vintage Pick n Mix, hot chocolate or a Woodlands-inspired cocktail. Food & drink A handpicked selection of local traders will be serving up delicious, locally sourced goodies. There will be sweet & savoury, meat & veggie options in order to cater for all; as well as a diverse range of bars including Kent Cider Co., Beetl
