FACT. BEING CREATIVE CAN RELIEVE STRESS, RENEW (AND INCREASE) BRAIN FUNCTION, CAN HELP TO

EMPORIA FABRICS & CRAFTS
Making your own clothes, and clothes for your
children, is a skill that has been somewhat lost
over time thanks to mass-produced ‘off the
peg’ items so readily (and reasonably cheaply)
available in the high street clothing and fashion
stores. However, it’s also a skill that, once
learned, will mean you never have to run the
risk of bumping into someone in the same
outfit as yet – and it’s plenty of fun too!
Emporia Fabrics & Crafts based in Ashford
offers a wide range of different classes
throughout the year, plus it’s a fabric shop too,
so you can find everything you need in one
rather beautiful place.
Upcoming classes include how to make
a simple gathered skirt, ‘Alice trousers’ (loose,
summer trousers), a pair of reversible shorts,
a girl’s reversible dress, a kimono dress and
there is a patchwork course too. a musical theatre course and a symphony
orchestra course.

to work with completely natural, organic
materials, and discover more about their
beauty and uniqueness.
You can learn to make garden furniture,
weave willow baskets, carry out spoon carving,
understand trug making and carve bowls. And
if there is anything else you want to know
about, the experts will be on hand to answer
your questions.
