THISMONTH… THISMONTH We’re bringing the kids to… We’re eating… MANUKA HONEY By the bowlful. Winter is in its final, freezing throes, which means cold germs are rubbing their little infectious hands with glee and Manuka honey is the ultimate preventative. Packed full of antibacterial and antiviral properties, it contains more minerals, amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants than any other type of honey making it a really effective immunity booster. If you feel a cold coming on, eat a teaspoon of Manuka honey three to four times daily. Tenterden Town Station, Station Road, Tenterden, Kent TN30 6HE / 01580 765155 We’re washing our tresses with… We’re reading… THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP MARIE KONDO Banishing clutter from your home forever sounds like one of those marvellous mythical anomalies akin to actually getting a summer bikini body, but apparently it can be done if you tackle your home in the correct order, keep only the things you really love and to do it all at once à la the Japanese KonMari Method. Intriguing. We’re watching… THE CROWN Portraying the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II, this brilliant series has had us hooked from the get go. The acting is exceptional with relative unknown, Claire Foy, (who’s originally from Manchester and so deserves credit for her polished accent alone) stepping into Elizabeth’s shoes and former Doctor Who, Matt Smith, playing a remarkably convincing Prince Philip. Love, honour, duty and betrayal – it’s got the lot. We’re listening to… LOVE & HATE MICHAEL KIWANUKA Love & Hate is the second studio album by London-based singer-songwriter, Michael Kiwanuka, whose compelling, emotional voice could make the hairs stand up on the arms of even the most apathetic among us. Throughout this entire album, Kiwanuka’s folky, soulful style is, wonderfully, never predictable and instead flows between retro and modern affectations, soul searching as it goes.
