THIS SPRING , THE CONFERENCE AND EVENTS TEAM AT TUDOR PARK MARRIOTT HOTEL & COUNTRY CLUB IN BEARSTED WILL BE ENCOURAGING KENT BUSINESS MEN AND WOMEN TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX WHEN IT COMES TO HOLDING MEETINGS .
Instead of offering a fixed ‘ menu ’ of meeting styles , the team has adopted a unique approach of creating mood boards of ideas based on individual client needs .
“ One size does not fit all and so we ask clients why are they holding the meeting and then build a theme around that ,” says new senior events manager Julia Ashton ( pictured left ). “ The concept is called Meetings Imagined and it does just that – imagine how you can get the best out of your staff or delegates and we will create the environment for you . Our aim is the same as our clients – to make people feel inspired and to ensure the event is not only productive , but memorable .”
Ideas can be as simple as having comfortable sofas and chairs arranged around the more formal conference layout to provide uninhibited discussion during breakout or group sessions . Static bikes and exercise balls can be available at lunchtimes to act as a de-stresser . And lunchtime menus will include energising dishes and juices to help prevent the afternoon ‘ slump ’. As the weather gets warmer , there is even potential to hold meetings outdoors in the hotel ’ s gazebo .
The four-star hotel can accommodate up to 250 delegates , theatre style , in its Thurnham Suite , up to 16 in its boardrooms , and eight in its syndicate rooms . Or smaller groups can meet in the hotel ’ s stylish lobby and Mezzanine Lounge , where free Wi-Fi and computer power points are available , and views of the picturesque greens and 30 acres of rolling landscape are guaranteed .
